Samantha: [interrogating a suspect] Did you charge a plane ticket to Houston four months ago? [suspect nods] Samantha: And then again two months ago, and then *again* last week? [suspect nods nervously] Martin: And did you run into this guy while you were there? [shows her a picture of a suspect] Martin: Lives in a suburb outside of Houston. Loves boats, loves to steal people off of boats.
Patrick Bateman: Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Christie? Elizabeth: [laughing] You actually listen to Whitney Houston? You own a Whitney Houston CD? More than one? Patrick Bateman: It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.
Ken Borden: Explosives armed. Houston gives us the go-ahead. Say when, boss. Boston Low: Do it. Ken Borden: Now let's see, is it the big green triangle, or the little red circle? Cora Miles: Shut up and push, Ken.
David Crockett: [Crockett is about to be executed by the Mexicans] You tell the general I'm willing to discuss the terms of surrender. You tell him; if he'll order his men to put down their weapons and line up, I'll take them to Sam Houston and I'll try my best to save most of them. That said; Sam's a mite twitchy, so no promises.
Ria: [to Chev] You need me like Whitney Houston dude!
Noah Dietrich: I've gotta tell you, the board over in Houston has been getting a little concerned about the cost of this operation out here. Howard Hughes: [grimicing] Ah! would you stop showing them the books, Noah? Noah Dietrich: That's illegal Howard. Howard Hughes: [smiling] Well, maybe it's a little naughty. Noah Dietrich: We're incorporated in Houston. The board has to see the books. Howard Hughes: Well, incorporate a new division out here. We'll call it Hughes Aircraft. Get into that will ya?
Jack Swigert: I've been going over the numbers again. Have they called up with a re-entry plan yet? 'Cause we're coming in too shallow, we're coming in too damn fast. Jim Lovell: We're working on something, Jack, just hold on. Jack Swigert: Listen, listen, they gave us too much delta vee, they had us burn too long. At this rate, we're going to skip right out of the atmosphere and we're never going to get home. Fred Haise, Sr.: What are you talking about? How'd you figure that? Jack Swigert: I can add. Jim Lovell: Jack, they've got half the Ph.D.'s on the planet working on it. Fred Haise, Sr.: Houston says we're right on the money. Jack Swigert: And what if they had made a mistake, all right? And there was no way to reverse it, you think they would tell us? There's no reason for them to tell us! Fred Haise, Sr.: What do you mean they're not going to tell us? That's bullshit! Jim Lovell: All right, there's a thousand things that have to happen in order. We are on number eight. You're talking about number six hundred and ninety-two. Jack Swigert: And in the meantime, I'm trying to tell you we're coming in too fast. I think they know it, and I think that's why we don't have a God-damned reentry plan. Jim Lovell: That's duly noted, thank you Jack.
